Uganda: Police Chiefs Clash Over Walk-to-Work Arrest Figures

Kampala — Acrimony is brewing in the Uganda Police Force with senior officials accusing each other of sabotage, bad-mouthing and incompetence.

The Criminal Investigations Department head Edward Ochom and the head of police publicity department Judith Nabakooba are feuding over the walk-to-walk arrests. In a telephone conversation with this newspaper yesterday, Mr Ochom accused Ms Nabakooba of being economical with the truth as regards the number of people arrested during the walk-to-work protests.
