Cameroon: Gov't Gets National Railway Master Plan

Cameroon now has a modern long-term master plan for the development of its railway lines expected to engender the development of its natural resources as well as boost the transport network in the country and in the central African sub-region. The plan was officially presented to the public at the Yaounde Hilton Hotel yesterday April 28 in a colourful ceremony chaired by the Minister of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development (MINEPAT), Louis Paul Motaze, in the presence of some cabinet ministers.

In a speech during the ceremony, Mr Motaze said within the framework of reviving the country's economy that dwindled with the economic crisis, it was but logical to have up-to-date infrastructure, one of which is modern railway lines that meet international standards.
