The Director for Training and Examinations at the Liberian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (LICPA), Nime’ne Mombo says Liberian accountants throughout the country, especially those that are candidates of the LICPA will not be second class to anyone in the world.
He noted that the intention of the examination is to make Liberian Accounting students throughout the country get the same world class accounting qualification as anybody and any place on planet earth.
Speaking further, the professional Accountant stressed that said examination will without doubt give Liberian accountants the access to other professional Accountants around the world.
“This means that Liberian Accounting sector and its professionals are about to get on path with their counterparts around the world,” he said.
The Liberian and International trained professional Accountant made the statement yesterday on the campus of the Cuttington University Master Degree Program building in Congo Town where 14 candidates of the Liberian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (LICPA) sat an International Accounting Examinations.
According to Mr. Mombo, the Institute of Charter Accountants (ICA), a Ghana based professional Accounting firm administered said professional examinations to the Liberian Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ candidates based on an approach made to the ICA by authority of LICPA in recent times.
Mr. Mombo informed journalists in an interview that the examine is the first of its kind to be administered to Liberian Accountants in the country, stating that those candidates who will be successful are eligible for admission as professional members of the Institute of Charter Accountants in Ghana.
He added that the successful candidates will be allowed also to sit additional examination which according to Mr. Mombo is the ‘Liberian Taxation’ and upon passing this test, said candidates automatically begin eligible for entrant as professional Accountants into the LICPA.
