Uganda: Government to Walk Tight Rope in 2011/12 Budget

As biting inflation continues to push many families to the edge, more misery awaits Ugandans in a post-election budget where government seeks to balance spending pressures and the dismal fiscal situation on the backs of the poor.

While it's not yet clear whether the next budget will be delivered by the incumbent Finance Minister Syda Bbumba, she has released a blueprint--laying out the government's spending agenda for the coming financial year.
