Lari district farmers are digging a trench to stop wild animals from destroying their crops. The residents started digging the seven-foot trench after their plea to the authorities fell on deaf ears. They said wild animals, mainly elephants and wild pigs, have been destroying their crops.
Mburu Kahangara, a resident, said the Kenya Wildlife Service promised to address the issue but a year later, nothing has been done. "We complained to the Kenya Wildlife Service but nothing has been done in the past year," Kahangara said.
