Kenya: Tribal Chic Fashion Show At the Tribe

The Tribe Hotel came alive on Saturday night bringing together local and international fashion talent at the charity haute couture fashion show dubbed Tribal Chic 2011. Moo Cow celebrated the Afrocentric trend mixing colours with Nollywood glamour.

On the dazzling runway, Emcee Fareed Khimani introduced six designers who showcased their collections. They included Deepa Dosaja, Kondakis, Adele Dejak, Mille Collines and the renowned Penny Winters whose collection was highly anticipated. Winters has dressed fashionistas such as Michelle Obama, Princess Caroline of Monaco, Sylvia Fendi, Academy Award-winning Rachel Weisz and most recently, two guests at the Royal Wedding between the now Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

In true international standards, designers, models and guests interacted at the Designers' Lounge, having the option to select from the collections exhibited.

Proceeds from the show went to Flying Kite Global, a charity dedicated to raising the standards of care available to the world's poorest children.
