Somalia: Central Region Battle Leaves Two Al Shabaab Dead

Beletweyne — Fierce battle between Shabelle Valley administration and fighters loyal to Al shabaab movement on Monday broke out in Hiran region in central Somalia.

The combat erupted after Shabelle Valley fighters launched premeditated attack on military base manned by Al shabaab in the mountain of Ugas Khalif just outside of Beletweyne town.

Local residents confirmed that they could heard heavy crackling machine gunfire and rocket Propelled Grenades during the confrontation.

Mohammed Nur Aga-jof, the minister of information of Shabelle Valley told Shabelle that they killed two Al shabaab fighters in the attack.

He said that there are no any casualties in line of their fighters. But, Al shabaab has not released any comments about the fighting today.
