As part of its efforts at reducing unemployment in the country, the government has launched a special training and employment programme to provide decent and reliable jobs for the numerous unemployed Ghanaians in the Western Regional capital, Takoradi, following a national launch in Tamale about three weeks ago.
The programme, dubbed Local Enterprises and Skills Development (LESDEP), is a private initiative registered under the auspices of the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD), and has full governmental support.
