Kenya: I Am Wanjiru's Father, Says Ex- Air Force Man

A 50 year old ex- Kenya Airforce soldier from Kabarnet emerged yesterday and claimed he was the father of Olympic marathon champion Samuel Wanjiru who died early Monday morning.

Elijah Kipng'etich Chebon said he was working at the Laikipia airbase where he was a draughtsman and Anna was working as a casual farmhand and living in a small village near the William Woods Conservancy. He said he and Wanjiru's mother had a relationship which lasted for two months between December 1985 and January 1986 and which ended when she abruptly left.
