Kenya: MP Fears for His Life After Gang Raids His Nairobi Home

AN MP is expressing fears for his life after a five-man armed gang attacked his city residence when he was away. Gachoka MP, Mutava Musyimi who was not in the house during the incident, yesterday told a press conference that the men were armed with an AK47, an axe and other weapons, "they asked for me several times."

The MP said he was out of the country when four members of his family witnessed the incident in the wee hours last Thursday. Musyimi who returned to the country on Saturday said that he had no reason not to fear for his life. He said the five men were dressed in balaclavas and forced their way to the house at 2.30am. "These men were in the house for three hours in what appeared to be a carefully planned mission," Musyimi said adding that the gang spent three hours and left with items of significant value including electronics. The gang left the house at 5.30am.
