Nigeria: Power Sector - Govt Targets U.S.$100 Million From Japan

Lagos — As part of efforts to ensure stable power supply in the country, the federal government is targeting about $100 million from Japanese government in form of soft loan for rehabilitation of the 42 year old plant.

It was gathered that the federal Ministry of finance and that of Power acting on the directive of the Vice President Namadi Sambo have applied for the loan and have equally opened discussion with relevant Japanese Government agencies for the purpose.
