Nigeria: SFG - Onuoma Makes Case for Nwodo

Orlu — Apparently pleased with the sterling qualities of the former National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo, the Co-ordinator of North America PDP Goodluck / Sambo Presidential Campaign Council, Mr. Kenneth Anyika Onuoma has called for him to be considered for the post of Secretary to the Federal Government (SFG).

Mr. Onuoma, who called for this consideration in an exclusive interview in Owerri, capital of Imo State also congratulated President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and his vice, Arc. Namadi Sambo on their overwhelming victory at the April 16, 2011 presidential poll and maintained that their success was owing to their administrative ingenuities and initiation of people-oriented programmes.

Onuoma, also a USA-based businessman pointed out that Nigerians in North America were exceedingly mobilized to vote en masse for Mr. President and that the launching event in honour of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan / Namadi Sambo at Chicago and Baltimore by the PDP Presidential Campaign council was single-handedly sponsored by Dr. Nwodo.

He described Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo as a suitable candidate for the post of SFG adding that he has a liberal mind, exhibited traits of a good team leader, de-tribalistic, keenly interested in the Nigerian Project and squarely qualified for the exalted portfolio.

Irked by the unfounded rumours that surrounded the premature exit of Dr. Nwodo as the PDP National Chairman, Mr. Onuoma implored the President to shun the invectives and calumnies of those he described as sycophants and political jobbers and who he said are poised to run more blackmails that would poison his minds from considering Nwodo for the position.

He further divulged that the level of encouragement and good will of Dr. Nwodo immensely sustained the North America PDP Presidential Campaign Council which has its headquarters at N.E. Washington DC and made his job very successful . He therefore wondered why such a squarely qualified person should not be considered for the SFG position, this period.

Onuoma, an indigene of Oru East LGA of Imo State who ended his speech saying. " I challenge you to choose Nigeria as a centre of your aspirations. Let's put our differences aside and come together to build the nation of our dreams", subsequently, appealed to President Jonathan to use his wisdom by sieving the chaff from grain.
