The Governments of Kuwait and Indonesia have awarded several graduate and undergraduate scholarships to the Government of Liberia for its citizens to study in those countries.
The Liberian Government Inter-ministerial Scholarships Committee has therefore asked the public to take advantage by applying for the opportunities, most of which are in Sciences.
The following is the announcement regarding the scholarships.
The Kuwaiti Government, in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Liberia, is offering an opportunity for 5 Liberians to benefit from scholarships in the field of engineering and petroleum.
Scholarships are for study at the undergraduate level at Kuwait University. Their aim is to give a unique opportunity to Liberians to strengthen their skills and expose them to best practices and training in Kuwait. The deadline for application for the Kuwaiti scholarship is May 31, 2011 at 5:00 p.m.
Similarly, the Government of Indonesia is offering an opportunity a number of Liberians to benefit from scholarships in the following fields: Sciences: Biology, Physics, Geography, Chemistry, Remote Sensing, Computer, Mathematics, Statistics, Environmental Sciences, Public Health, Medical Studies, Pharmacy Studies.
Agricultural Sciences: Agricultural Economics, Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant pathology, Entomology, Forestry, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Food Science & Technology, Estate Crop Product Technology, Marine Science, Fisheries; and Engineering: Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering & Informatics, Mechanical Engineering, Geological Engineering, Naval Architect & Marine Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Informatics Engineering.
Scholarships are for study at the Master's level in Indonesia at Indonesian universities.
Beginning in 2011, the scholarships are for three years, including one year of Indonesian Language and Preparatory Programs and two years for the Master's program.
Their aim is to give a unique opportunity to Liberians to strengthen their skills and expose them to best practices and training in Indonesia. The deadline for applications is May 31, 2011 at 5:00 p.m.
