Kenya: Subsidized Fertilizer Finally Arrives

The cost of fertilizer is expected to go down after the government imported 33,000 metric tonnes to be distributed to farmers countrywide.

Agriculture minister Sally Kosgei, says the fertilizer will be retailing at a subsidized price of 1,600 shillings, 800 shillings less the current market price.

Kosgei has also directed millers to import maize as directed by the ministry of finance to bridge the current shortage.
