Kenya: JSC Fears Exit of Second Law Reform Official

The Judicial Service Commission expressed concern on the possible departure of a second official of a law reform body. Attorney General Amos Wako yesterday feared that in the event the Kenya Law Reform Commission chairman Kathurima M'Inoti is nominated to become a Supreme Court Judge, the commission would become rudderless.

Wako said Kathurima was heading an important commission involved in the implementation of the constitution. "It is a critical stage for you to seek to become a Supreme Court Judge because your commission and that of the Constitution Implementation Commission are involved in implementation the new constitution," Wako said.
