Nigeria: Oil Spill - Community Demands N18 Billion From Shell

Orlu — Umuogwa-Umuodebi Awara Community in Ohaji/ Egbema LGA of Imo State Tuesday carried out a peaceful demonstration agitating that Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) operating at Egbema Production Centre should pay the community the sum of N18billion.

The N18billion was for the damage caused by the six- year old oil spillage on their land which they insisted has rendered the community known for farming, economically useless.
