Uganda: Media Owners, Advertising Agencies Sign Partnership

Kampala — The Uganda Advertising Association and Uganda Media Owners Association have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that aims to streamline operations between the two associations. The MoU seeks to enhance professionalism and self-governance of players in the media and the advertising industry.

Dr Gitahi Githinji, the chairman of UMOA and managing director of Monitor Publications Limited, said during the signing of the MoU that the partnership will help players to lobby and harmonise government policies that affect them. He said "Together we can see a more organised style of doing business among media houses and advertising agencies."

UAA brings together advertising agencies including Moringa Ogilvy, Limelight, Fireworks, Lowe Scanad, Saachi and Saachi, Real Marketing and Star- Leo. Whereas UMOA is composed of newspapers publishers Television and Radio station owners throughout the country.
