Nigeria: Doctor Warns Against Indiscriminate Blood Sale

A medical expert in the department of Hematology and Blood Transfusion at the University of Abuja, Dr Obiageli Nnodu, has cautioned against the use of blood collected from people on commercial negotiations in the country, saying that the use of such blood have high infection risks.

She disclosed this at a symposium organized by the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH) Chapter in collaboration with the Association of Voluntary Blood Donors, in Gwagwalada.
