Nigeria: NLC President Condemns Bomb Attacks

Calabar — President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Abdul Waheed Omar has condemned the recent bomb attacks is some parts of the country. Speaking at a retreat for leadership of the union in Calabar, he said, "The bombings and kidnappings that have characterised the polity since last year by suspected terrorist groups in the country are dastardly acts and are completely condemned".

He called on the Federal Government to do its best to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book.

Omar, who also harped on the need for the government to equip security agencies, added,

"The need for the capacity of our security agencies to be reinforced cannot be over-emphasised. The intelligence service and crime prevention capability of the police should also be boosted".

He urged the government to do something about the situation as soon as possible so that the country does not become ungovernable.
