Africa: Warrant On Gadhafi Worries African Union

Malabo — The arrest warrant against Libyan leader Mouammar Gadhafi and some members of his family is seen as a "new situation" within the African Union (AU), which, therefore, can not react at the moment, indicates a diplomatic source contacted Friday by ANGOP, in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.

According to the source, many countries are already admitting the possibility that Gadhafi should step down, but it is necessary that the parties in conflict meet, in order to reach a cease-fire, which means the cessation of NATO air strikes against Tripoli.
