Nigeria: PDP Chieftain Gets Ultimatum to Apologise to Benin Monarch

Benin — ANGERED by a provocative statement credited to the Vice Chairman, Edo South Senatorial District of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Owerre Dickson Imasogie on His Royal Majesty Omo N'Oba N'Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Erediauwa, the Benin Traditional Council (BTC) has demanded for an unreserved apology within seven days

Members of the council in a statement signed by secretary of the traditional council, Frank Irabor, and made available to newsmen in Benin the state capital, expressed dismay over the unwarranted statement credited to the party chieftain alleging that "the undue influence" of Oba Erediauwa was responsible for the PDP loss to the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) during the April general elections in the state.
