Kenya: TB Patient Jailed a Year to Force Him Take Drugs

A 28-year-old herdsman who refused to take his TB medicine will spend the next one year in prison where he will be forced to undergo treatment. James Kasana admitted he refused to take the medications, which had been prescribed by a doctor, after he was diagnosed with TB last year.

Kasana who comes from Il Polei market in Laikipia North district refused to take the medicines and the doctors at Dol Dol hospital prescribed injections which he was to take at regular intervals.
