Uganda: Taxi Drivers Strike Paralyses Transport

HUNDREDS of people in Kampala were yesterday forced to walk to their places of work, while others paid three times the normal fares, following a strike by a section of taxi operators.

Many people were left stranded by the roadside throughout the day as they waited for the taxis whose operators did not take part in the strike.
