Kenya: Kisii's Nyaura And Nyakeyo for Nyanza Show

MINNOWS Nyaura and Nyakeyo secondary schools will represent the Kisii region during the Nyanza Secondary Schools ball games after winning the girls' and boys' football titles.

In the boy's category, Nyakeyo thumped former giants Itierio 4-0 in the opening match before holding Gianchere to a 1-1 draw. Itierio had earlier contained Gianchere to a barren draw at Cardinal Otunga High School Mosocho, the venue of the provincial championships.

In the girl's category, Nyaura coached by Francis Ogutu walloped Geturi 6-0 and also thumped Matongo 4-0 to emerge tops. In another match, Geturi defeated Matongo 1-0. Ogutu said his team will target the provincial title during the championships from July 18 to 23.

Hosts Cardinal Otunga clinched the boy's volleyball title after recording straight sets wins over Itierio Boys and Itibo Boys. Itibo Boys beat Itierio 3-0.

Itibo Girls won the girl's title after beating Itierio Girls 3-0 and Nyabururu 2-1. Nyabururu had beaten Itierio 3-0 in the opening encounter.
