Ghana: Boost for Organic Farming in Ashanti Region

Efforts by the health authorities to address dietary complications associated with the excessive use of chemicals for food production has received a massive boost, following the introduction of organic fertiliser by a local organisation in the Ashanti Region.

The organization, known as Farmers Hope, in collaboration with the Conservation Division of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) and the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), has officially launched a locally-made organic fertiliser that is expected to serve as an alternate for chemical fertilisers presently being used by farmers.
