Makadara MP Gidion Mbuvi was yesterday locked up at Milimani law court basement cells for nearly two hours after he denied stealing a City Council clamp worth Sh10,000.
Mbuvi alias Sonko was ordered by Nairobi chief magistrate Gilbert Mutembei to pay a cash bail of Sh10,000 to secure his freedom awaiting trial. Sonko, who has several times found himself at the wrong end of the law, turned himself in yesterday afternoon day after a warrant of arrest was issued against him by a magistrate for maliciously damaging the council's property.
