Nigeria: Shell Seeks Dialogue As Host Communities Besiege Its Bayelsa Facility

Lagos — Activities at the Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC, Kolo Creek Logistics base, in the Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa state was disrupted on Thursday, as aggrieved natives from its four host communities laid siege to the facility in protest of not being supplied with electricity from the company facilities.

The company however sought dialogue with the communities- Imiringi, Elebele, Otuasega and Oruma -, which had earlier staged the protest with a casket, promising them more developmental projects.
