Kenya: Knut Wants More Teachers Employed

The Knut has upped its pressure to have the government employ more teachers in order to address the shortage being experienced in the region. Narok County executive secretary Dennis Rakwa said the area is facing a shortage of 1,651 teachers.

Rakwa said there was a shortage of 1,241 and 410 in primary and secondary schools respectively. He made the remarks yesterday during a fundraising in aid of a teacher, Sankale Olmerae, who lost his property through a fire in Nairegi Enkare in Narok North District. "The State should respect the Maasai decision to educate their children by employing enough teachers in our schools," said Rakwa.
