Nigeria: Corruption Trial - Keyamo Replies Bankole

A lawyer to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Festus Keyamo has replied to the application brought before a Federal High Court in Abuja by former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole that he should be disqualified from representing the anti-graft agency in the former lawmaker's ongoing trial for corruption.

Bankole in his objection before the court had requested that Keyamo in particular be disqualified by the court to prosecute him. The former Speaker objected on the grounds that the legal practitioner had in the past written a petition against him in respect of another transaction regarding the purchase of Peugeot 407 cars for members of the House of Representatives and that he had shown malice and bias against him in the past.
