Nigeria: Mubi Staff Denies Calling for Strike, Rector's Sack

THE Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) Mubi chapter has dissociated itself from media reports which quoted the National Executive Council (NEC) of ASUP as demanding for the removal of the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Mubi, Dr. Mustapha Mohammed Barau or risk a national strike.

Chairman of Mubi chapter of ASUP, Innocent B. Ephraim, who made this known in a statement said: "The ASUP Mubi chapter is not in agreement with, neither will it support any ultimatum or strike action aimed at disrupting the Polytechnic's peaceful academic activities nor the removal of its energetic and hardworking chief executive."
