Nigeria: Prepare for More Strikes, Labour Tells Citizens

Organised labour has again threatened to embark on a nationwide industrial action without notice should governments fail to pay the N18,000 minimum wage to workers by the end of August 2011.

This declaration came from the President General of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), Comrade Peter Esele, who Thursday asked Nigerians to be prepared for more strikes, warning that the fight for the implementation of the new National Minimum Wage Act was not yet over.
