Uganda: Hope for Young Mothers in Busoga

TABITHA Ntono, a resident of Namwendwa village in Kamuli district, dropped out of school in P7. The 19-year-old mother of three is one of the many teenage mothers in Uganda.

Underage pregnancy, lack of access to antenatal care, ill-equipped health facilities, malnutrition and poverty are some of the major factors responsible for ill-health and high maternal and child deaths in the country.
