Kenya: Four Injured in School Bus Accident

Four people were seriously injured in Kieni West district after the brakes of a school bus they were travelling in failed. Among the four injured are two students who were in the Kiamwangi Secondary School bus which was headed to Nakuru for a music festivals tour.

The two others are a teacher and a casual worker. Nyeri Police boss Kirunya Limbitu said the bus hit the side of the road and landed in a ditch at Lamuria in Kiawara Trading Centre. The brakes are said to have failed while the bus was on the Nyeri -Nyahururu highway when the brake failed. It had picked other students at Watuka area in Kieni West from Kiamwangi secondary and Kirimara Boys schools in Mathira district.

The injured were taken to Nyeri Provincial General Hospital where they were admitted. On the same day three students from Loreto Msongari School died in an accident along the Nanyuki- Meru highway.
