The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has disclosed that a total of 1897 persons are suspected of double registration. However, the Commission has so far received 56 voter cards, whose owners registered more than once, with one of the cards deleted and the other retained by the voter.
The chairman of the IEC, Alhaji Mustapha Carayol made the disclosure Thursday at a press briefing held at the Commission's head office along Bertil Harding highway. He explained that thumbprint and facial recognition where used as means of detecting the double registrations.
