East Africa: Curb Movement of Criminals

Arusha — Implementation of the East African Community (EAC) integration process may be jeopardized if the partner states don't work together to put in place measures that would stop the abuse of the Common Market Protocol which offers free movement of persons, Uganda has warned.

"This freedom will inevitably be occasioned by movement of robbers, terrorists, drug abusers, criminals trafficking human beings and other crimes," said Uganda's Minister for Refugees and Disaster Preparedness Dr. Steven Malinga.
