With the continuous rise in the cost of cement, a major material in the construction of buildings, house owners to be may soon heave a sigh of relief owing to what could be described as a technological innovation where plastic bottles may gradually replace blocks in house construction. Raliat Ahmed reports.

Respite may not be far from Nigerians who desire to own a house of their own, as a substitute for cement - a major material used in house construction - may have been discovered; plastic bottles can now be recycled and used in the construction of houses! To prove this latest innovation, a house constructed from such plastic bottles has been built in Kaduna State. Could it be the solution to the housing crisis in Nigeria if modified and the state and federal governments key into it?
