THE Voi Mayor Thomas Mwatela yesterday attributed persistent water shortages in the town to old water pipes which often burst.
Mwatela lamented that the main pipe supplying the town is over 50 years old. He said the pipe often breaks resulting to the residents going for weeks without water. He also blamed the Taita Taveta Water and Sewerage company (TAVEVO) of failing to repair pipes quickly once the residents report breakages.
