Eritrea: Modern Agriculture Vital for Preserving Natural Resources and Boosting Production, Says Exemplary Farmer

Applying modern agricultural methods is vital for preserving natural resources and boosting production, stated Mr. Tesfamariam Teklai, an exemplary farmer engaged in cultivating fruits and vegetables in Mai-Aini sub-zone.

Pointing out that Mai-Aini is suitable for agricultural activities; the farmer said that he is striving to transform the agricultural activities in Kertse-Kemte administrative area to modern ones.

Mr. Tesfamariam, who previously engaged himself in trade activities until 2001, is believed to have planted about 5,000 crops and fruits over 40 hectares.
