Nigeria: Labour Expresses Fears Over Employee Compensation Act

Organised labour has expressed fears that the Employee Compensation Act may be ineffective if the bill to repeal the Factories Act and make comprehensive provisions for occupational safety and health in workplaces is not passed into law by the National Assembly.

Chairman, Rivers State Council of Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), Comrade Chika Unuegbu, expressed this view.
