The party through which William Ruto intends to vie for President faces a split following the entry of former National Assembly Speaker Francis ole Kaparo. Kaparo has been proposed for chairman of the United Democratic Movement (UDM), a move that has upset some of the current officials.
Secretary General Martin ole Kamwaro yesterday warned that party 'intruders' were making "illegal lineups" in the runup to the 2012 general elections. He said creating political lineups was against the party's policy of transparency and accountability to its members.
