Nigeria: Muslims Mark Sallah Amidst Tight Security

Abuja, Sokoto and Yola — Amidst tight security at the National Mosque, Muslims yesterday marked this year's Eid el fitri prayer, which used to take place at the prayer ground along the Airport Road, Abuja.

Vice-President Namadi Sambo and other Muslims prayed at the new venue to mark the end of the Ramadan fast. Though some people said the choice of the National Mosque was arrived at, at the last minute due to the rains that had drenched the rugs already laid at the usual prayer ground, sources hinged the change in venue on security concerns.
