Demolition of structures erected on road reserves in Dar es Salaam will resume soon, Works minister John Magufuli said yesterday. Briefing journalists on the ministry's participation in activities to mark Tanzania's upcoming 50th independence anniversary, Dr Magufuli said structures built on road reserves would be pulled down to ease congestion in the city.
He dismissed criticism of the operation, saying the ministry was acting within the confines of the law by clearing road reserves of illegally built structures, adding that he had sworn to uphold the rule of law.
