Namibia: Delays in Bush Allowance Payments for Teachers

NAMIBIA National Teacher's Union (Nantu) is not happy with the delays in payment of recruitment and retention incentives for qualified teachers in remote areas.

Nantu secretary general Basilius Haingura said the union has received countless enquiries about the status of payments due to teachers from April 2010 to March 2011.
