Nigeria: 2012 - Does Oshiomhole Need Edo Teachers, Workers' Votes?

ALTHOUGH, Governor Adams Oshiomhole has since Friday, August 5, this year, answered this question in the negative, I have continued to reminisce on the spat between him and the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in the state over the minimum wage package.

The conflict had provoked his curious call on the workers, especially the teachers, to continue their strike till July 14, next year, when the governorship election would be held. Workers in the state had embarked on a solidarity strike with teachers who were excluded from the package. The teachers had gone on an indefinite strike in July, this year, to press for their inclusion.
