Nigeria: Ogoni Leaders Want Full Participation in Oil Spill Clean Up

Leaders of Ogoni land yesterday visited the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA), Sir Peter Idabor to press home their demand for full participation in the clean up and remediation of oil spills in the region.

Speaking at NOSDRA office in Abuja yesterday, King Barnabas Barizomdu Bagia, the Gberemene of Gokana Kingdom, Gberesaakoo XII and vice chairman of Ogoni Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers, prayed the agency to allow them take part in ensuring the cleanup is properly done.
