Sierra Leone: Vexed Supporters Urge Bio, Job to Unite SLPP- but Pro Says 'We Are United'

Freetown — Some concerned supporters of the opposition Sierra Leone People's Party (SLPP) have confirmed to Concord Times the current split within the party, expressing fear that such a development has the propensity of denying the party any chance of returning to State House come 2012.

An SLPP elder who prefers to remain anonymous voiced to Concord Times the urgent need for the party's heads to unite what he referred to as "the existing camps within the SLPP". He challenged particularly the flag-bearer (Rtd.) Brig. Julius Maada Bio and Chairman John Oponjo Benjamin as having the responsibility of unifying the SLPP to confront the forthcoming elections as a united front.
