The Liberia National Police (LNP) says it is taking a number of preventive measures to curb rising violence in the country. The LNP's move comes on the heels of upsurge in the wave of violence, ahead of the much publicized presidential and general elections here. The presidential and general elections are scheduled for October of this year.
Police Spokesman, George Bardue, told this paper Wednesday in an interview at his Charles Alphonso Caine Building Police Offices that, "spot checkpoints will be erected throughout the country", for the purpose of thorough police search.
