Two men in their 30s have been sentenced to death by a Homa Bay law court for robbery with violence. Calvince Otieno and Ronald Ochieng were charged that on December 6 2010 at Ndhiwa town, while armed with a pistol, robbed Jackton Omondi of a motorbike, a mobile phone and Sh3,000 all valued at Sh87,000.
The two who pleaded guilty before senior magistrate Charles Mutai, were also accused of threatening to kill the complainant after the robbery. The court heard that four days after the robbery, APs from Nduri camp got a tip-off that led to the arrest. The police raided their house and recovered the motorbike.
