The ruling Unity Party or UP has described the outcome of the referendum as a success, saying that looking at the aggregate percentage of the YES votes which is 48% compare to NO votes of 40%, the party would have won in the first round of voting had it been a general election.
The party stated that this is a sign of victory ahead.
