Tanzania: Manufacturing Costs Rise by 29 Per Cent

Kampala — Ugandans should brace for higher prices of manufactured goods as an upsurge in the cost of commodities continues to raise industrial raw material and input prices, pushing up production costs.

The Producer Price Index for Manufacturing (PPI-M) released by the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (Ubos) on Friday indicates that producer prices for manufactured goods surged to 29 per cent in July 2011 compared to July 2010.
